Questions
Who should I vote for in 2026?
Vote for the candidate with the strongest record. The Ballot Standard scores every candidate on 15 qualities of character, qualifications and performance from public records and established reporting, and each race page names the candidate who scores highest, with every source shown.
How do I find out who is on my ballot?
Your state election office publishes a sample ballot for your address. Pick your state on this page to see the U.S. Senate, U.S. House and statewide candidates scored, then check your Secretary of State or county election site for your full ballot, including legislative and local races.
Is this a voter guide for Republicans or Democrats?
Neither. The same 15 criteria and the same public sources are applied to every candidate of every party, and no policy position is scored. The candidate with the stronger record ranks first, whatever the party.
When is the 2026 general election?
The general election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026, in every state.
Independent scorecards by The Political Group, a campaign services firm that works with campaigns of every party. Any candidate the firm has worked for is marked on that scorecard. See also the 2026 election calendar for registration and early voting dates.
